During the Summer Intensives classes can be taken singly or as a whole weekend workshop. Friday’s evening class is appropriate for all North Woods Yoga or Iyengar Yoga students. This class will review basic asanas with an emphasis on deeper work. Synchronizing various elements of each asana and bring them to bear on the next asana cultivates mediative awareness. Open to all continuing students of Iyengar yoga.
Pranayama instruction will be offered both Saturday and Sunday morning. Coffee, tea and fruit will be offered after pranayama and before asana.
Saturdays morning class will guide participants in how to bring the foundations of basic work forward to the more complex asanas such as backbends and abdominal asanas. This class is open to all Iyengar students of one year or more experience, and will be taught with options for less experienced students and those working with special conditions Saturday afternoon we will present a session of yoga philosophy. Afterward our asanas will be dedicated to forward bends, twists and restoratives. Bringing our life force, or prana into greater play in our lives is always at the heart of a yoga practice.
