Haramara Yoga Retreat April 4-11, 2009

Hara Mara ( Mother Sea) is an enchanting retreat resort designed to facilitate our connection to nature, support our love for yoga with an amazing instructional space, and provide the comfort and beauty we seek in a vacation designed for rejuvenation. The daily Yoga class schedule with Mary will included a 2+ hour mixed level asana class every morning and a restorative and pranayama class most afternoons. This is a powerful time of spring renewal, recognized by major faiths as a week of sacred days, and Mary’s guidance on our inner journeys with yoga will reflect that search.

Accommodations are beautifully appointed indigenous style palapas, set in the hillside overlooking Hara Mara’s private beach. They are all walking distance to the beach, and have their own bath facilities. Designed to give privacy, most all palapas have an ocean view. They are equipped with hot running water and evening light is by lantern ( no electricity in the palapas) The climate is temperate and there are no mosquitos.

Meals will be beautiful gourmet fare, vegetarian with some seafood options provided in the onsite restaurant. Three meals a day plus snacks are included in the retreat package.

Afternoons are free for swimming in the warm waters of Haramara's private beach, exploring volcanic highlands, taking a walk into town, catching a surf lesson , retreating to a siesta, or taking advantage of the top of the line spa services.

Not included in the retreat package: airfare, alcohol, excursions, gratuities, travel from the Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) to Hara Mara ((Hara Mara’s Shuttle can be shared by 4 to 7 people and starts at $65  for 4 and $5 for each additional passenger, trip takes approx 40 minutes), spa services.

Here is the yoga palapa, the walls close if need be but the view is 360 degrees.  There is an equally beautiful restaurant where our meals will be served, and a spa.

Yoga experience: this retreat will be taught in the Iyengar tradition,. Students should be practicing the standing poses, and have a grasp of the basics.  One year of study is recommended, call Mary if you need to consult on this point 231-526-5041.  As you can see from this photo above the props are there.

Deposit and Registration Form

Spaces are limited and kinds of rooms ( doubles, triples etc) are limited. To secure your space, send in this registration form (PDF format) with your non-refundable $300 deposit. After you get confirmation of your place, book a flight, (since it is in the spring break time frame, a year in advance is not too early.) The retreat begins with a welcome dinner Saturday night April 4th, and ends with morning class and a brunch Saturday April 11th. More specific times will be mailed to you with your confirmation. The first half of the remaining registration will be due Oct. 1st, the second half February 1st. Refunds due to cancellations will be given less the deposit until January 30th, and after that only if someone will take your place. Cancellations must be received in writing.

Rates

Deposit for any type of room is $300. Prices are per person and include accommodations, meals served in the lovely onsite restaurant, and yoga classes.

Non yoga student partner subtract $250 (Class is before breakfast and most afternoons, lots of time together)
